Story Board

I have created a story board for my video to help me organise what needs to be filmed and when, as well as giving myself a structure to my video when I start editing. I wanted to include as many different angles and shot types when filming to make it look as interesting as possible and attract my target audience. I have made this story board to be as realistic to film as possible to ensure I don't end up trying to film something that is out of my depth and it turn out I do not have the correct equipment, ability or knowledge when trying to capture my vision. When filming, I am going to stick to this as much as possible but am willing to adapt certain aspects of it if I think of a better fitting idea later in time or have to change anything due to unforeseen issues.

Performance Based This is a performance based video as all members of the band are performing their song using instruments and singing in sync with the music and there is no narrative based story. Footage from the Drama Studio

Below is a summary of the footage I captured in the drama studio for the swing dance/dream sequence. Within this video I have shown the clips taken with usable footage in them. Although the routine was a little shaky at first, it didn't massively impact the filming as I'll only need clips of a few seconds at a time to overlay with other footage, meaning I'd cut the best parts out of these clips and include them in my video. When editing, I'd speed up the footage and add different effects to make it look more dreamlike and professional. Overall, this filming was a success as I was able to capture the swing era element of my chosen song and will be able to attract my audience with something that isn't often seen within modern music videos. Poster Questionnaire Analysis

I made the following questionnaire to try and understand what an audience expects to see on a music promotional poster.  My target audience falls within the range of 15-25 and the majority of my respondents (60%) were from the 18-20 bracket. This age is right in the middle of my target audience so it should give me a valid insight to my audiences requirements despite having no responses from the 21-25 age range. Most of my respondents were female but I got a mixture of different genders meaning my results wont be one sided to one gender. These results seem to agree that the band name, album name and release date are the most important aspects to see on a poster and my audience would want to see an image that relates to the album or art work that is easily recognised rather than a picture of the artist.
