Chosen Song

My chosen song is 'Crazy=Genius' by Panic! At The Disco. This song is the sixth track from the bands fifth studio album 'Death of a Bachelor'. This album was released on the 15th January 2016 through the record label 'Fueled by Ramen' and 'DCD2'. The entire album was written and recorded by the lead vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Brendon Urie. It debuted at number one on the US 'Billboard 200' with 190,000 album units and was nominated for the Grammy award for 'Best Rock Album' at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards. The song itself was written by Brendon Urie, Sam Hollander and Jake Sinclair and produced by Sinclair. Due to the label and song being released under the record label, I will need to ask permission to use the song for copyright reasons.

I decided on this track as it sounds upbeat and energetic meaning I can create a chaotic and interesting music video to stand out to my target audience. The band usually have an alternative/rock genre however this particular song has more of a jazz/swing style which goes against the conventions of the band and the rest of the album. To show the difference this in song compared to other alternative and rock songs, I'd do my best to create a music videos that defies some of the main conventions to make it unique and diverse to correspond with the defiant pattern the song seems to portray. This song has no existing music video meaning I've not been influenced by any existing footage and can remain objective when coming up with my own ideas.
